Ilana and Megan, the founders and owners of Parks Plus Creation, met in 2011 at a local preschool in San Francisco, where they taught together for two years. During this time, they led their preschool class on weekly adventures to the Presidio. This is where they discovered the extraordinary benefits of uninterrupted time spent outside. Challenges that presented themselves in the classroom disappeared, confidence was gained and all the skills that were practiced inside were easily translated to the outdoor classroom.
The Sunset Neighborhood Beacon Center (SNBC) is a community-based organization serving San Francisco’s Sunset District. Our mission is to provide supports and opportunities to ensure the healthy development of children, youth, and adults. Our purpose is to connect people to their passion, potential, and community.
Enrollment for Fall of 2018 has begun with tours for admission occurring now through January 2018. Families starting after Fall 2018 will tour in February. Please contact our Enrollment Coordinator. Designed with the “whole child” in mind, Sky Kids is an international program that promotes project-based learning, language education, and cultural exchange. We offer fun and engaging programs for children entering Grades K-8.
Founded in 2005 by Gever Tulley, at Tinkering School, we believe that kids are more capable than they know, and to prove it, we give them real tools to solve real problems. By learning through doing, we strive to make mistakes and learn from them, collaborate and make friends, and try harder than usual. With wood, with metal, with cardboard, and sometimes with paint, Tinkerers work with one another as well as our unique staff to team-design and team-create amazing projects.
